What needs to be done to enable TEXT MESSAGING capability for TroopTrack in USA.
Is there an additional service fee?
Do we need our own Network Service provider?
How do we enable this feature in our existing TroopTrack application.
Our Troop committee, Leaders and Scouts are seeking an additional communication feature in place of the current “broken” email services.,
Can you send me a copy of our TT service agreement for our Unit SW license.
Thank you for your prompt response.

You can enable the new text message feature by going to your Gear menu and selecting TroopTrack Subscription, there is an Add Text Messaging button that will give you the details and allow for a Pay with card button. You select that and complete the transaction. Once the subscription is paid for it allows you to send text messages from the Communicate, Send a Text Message menu item. There is an Admin privilege that has to be allowed, I believe it was not on by default when it was added, if you are an admin for your Unit you can enable it for yourself.
For your question about TT service agreement that would need to come from TT directly, this Community is mostly for user to user assistance, it is not typically monitored by TT staff.
Do you need to know and configure the TT users mobile network provider in addition to their mobile phone number?
If so, where does that info need to be input in TT settings for each user?
Please advise. Thank You

No, the provider information was for the old system that was doing email to text, this is an actual SMS messaging system, all you need is a mobile number in the field and it will send them an SMS message once you have the subscription.
One specific bit of information on text functionallity. The text character limit is 128 characters, unfortunately there is no count down. If you are over the limit it will not allow you to save the message and move on to the next step for sending. Not sure why 128 characters but that was found through trial and error.
