Would love to be able to send a text message from the app on my phone. When needing to send a text I am most likely holding the thing that sends and receives text messages, not my desktop computer.

I agree! This is a feature that I think is sorely missing from the iPhone app (one of MANY).
This would at least make me feel better about paying the 4.99 fee for the app if I was able to have more useful functionality with it.
