Android App not launching

The Trooptrack app on my android phone starts to launch and then disappears. Retry and android sends message that there is a bug and request uninstall and reinstall. Same thing happens after reinstall.

Any ideas on a fix?

I’ve had similar issues with the app stopping/crashing. I keep closing and reopening and eventually it sticks and stays open.

I am having the same issue. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling, making sure I didn’t have any updates that were missed but it just continues to “stop working”.

Thank you for the suggestion. It works but still a pain. I find it easier to just login from a web browser

This is also happening for me. I cleared cache, all storage, uninstalled, and reinstalled with no luck. I’m continuing to use the website for now.

Mine has stopped working now no matter how many times I click on it.

Maybe roll back the last update. That seems to have created the issue.

@DavidThompson3, The previous version did not work with the latest version of Android so people who had upgraded to that were not able to use the app.

I’ve been on Android 14 since that upgrade June 1, and my issues with the current version of TT only started with the last TT update in July. It worked fine for me before that. Now, my tablet can’t even open the app and my phone just gets the token missing errors. Have to open it multiple times before it actually opens.

Unfortunately the upgrade they released to work with 14 was not working for a large number of users, I guess you were one of the lucky ones that it did work for. I will mention to the dev team about your idea of rolling back for now until they can get things figured out.

Any update on the app issue? I am able to access it, but only after opening the app 5 times, entering user name and password, then opening the app 5 more times before it opens for use. Thanks.

Any updates? At this point my troop is about to switch from trooptrack. It’s insane this has been going on for so long.

I am curious why you would choose to move away from TT for the Android Mobile app not working. Do you have problems with TT in browser on Android? How many Android users do you have?

Roughly 30 people and enough to where it becomes enough of a hindrance to warrant something else. Everything has an app, when we are using something that actively doesn’t work and requires a work around we get asked why we are using TT when “my last troop used XX and it worked fine” or Have you tried XX? Its literally all about convenience. If something takes 3 extra clicks it becomes a hassle and hindrance VERY quickly. Parents have literally watched me open the app 15 times before it opens.

I will take your concerns to Dave, It is difficult to fix a problem that cannot be reproduced, which does mean they don’t know what is wrong yes, unfortunately TT is a small company with the owner Dave and one other part time Dev doing all of the work on the platform. Dave went out and purchased an Android phone to do testing for this problem and it works correctly on his test device, it is frustrating that it doesn’t work and I know Dave is frustrated he can’t figure out what is wrong.

Understood, if I am able to help I absolutely will. I can screen record, run Diagnostics or anything they need. If I can be of any help please let me know. I had an s22 ultra and just upgraded to an s25 ultra and it’s a little worse on the s25 ( takes 20 times to open vs say 10 on the s22)
