I can’t assign a special award to an adult. My council, and district have a few local awards that youth and registered adults can earn. If I create a custom award in the system I can assign it to youth only just fine(in all the nomal ways), but not adults (registered and unregistered) . If i re-classify the adult as a youth, i can assign the award to them, and then re-classify them back to an adult the award stays in their achievements tab… ( and their adult leadership role returns / remains on their profile.)
I guess there is a work around .. but bigger question, is this a bug in the front end that needs to be looked at so the other / special award logic does not validate youth status ? Or does the special award object need a youth / adult / anyone attribute ???
I was able to create and assign a custom award just now.
Process I followed:
- Opened the Custom Award screen
- Clicked “Create a New Custom Award”
- Entered in the name, added a note and marked as Ready for Use
- Saved
- Opened my adult leader. This adult has never been a youth in TT
- Started Achievement
- Opened the Custom Award section
- Clicked on the one I just created
- Clicked Save.
Not sure if something was fixed, or if you’re following a different set of steps?
steps 1 - 6 work as expected (as you described) . But I only get the option for pre-canned adult awards, no custom awards section. I suspect the award has some sort of type=youth / adult parameter that is not accessible in the GUI ?? Is your unit a troop or a pack ?? Wondering if that matters ?
when i do it for a youth 1 - 9 work as you described
My unit is a Troop; I’ve never used TroopTrack with a Pack. That could matter, but someone who has both would need to weigh in.
