I’m curious to hear from BSA troops how they use the Private Home Page feature. Between the public website and the options under Share, I’m trying to determine what is the best way to incorporate this feature.
I too was looking for suggestions when I started using TroopTrack.
We use our Private Webpages for publishing the following information. Each sub-site is spelled out and not just a link to a document:
Our Main landing page has
My Scoutmaster Minute for the month.
Announcement section (mirrors the most current announcement on TT).
Links to the following: like shortcuts.
Link to the Calendar:
Link to Calendar - Agenda View
Link Permission Slips page
Link to the next event details (camping trip) - (Updated by Troop Webmaster)
Link to Merit Badge Counselors page on Trooptrack
Link Most recent album - (Updated by Troop Webmaster)
Our sub-sites include full texts of some of documents we have in the document section plus a few others.
“How to Earn a Merit Badge - Checklist”
"How to Advance in Rank - Checklist"
Yearly Service Hours by Scout - (Updated by Troop Webmaster)
Camping night totals (we have a special award for over 30 and every +15 nights after) - (Updated by Troop Webmaster)
Patrol Leadership summary - (Updated by Troop Webmaster)
Patrol Membership summary - (Updated by Troop Webmaster)
Patrol Competition summary - (Updated by Troop Webmaster)
Eagle Scout Legacy - (Updated by Troop Webmaster)
Camping Event History (Where and Date) - (Updated by Troop Webmaster)
Flag ceremony calls.
Blue Cards explained.
How to add the TroopTrack Calendar to your Mobile device.
Troop By Laws
Troop Adult Leadership / Troop Committee - (Updated by Troop Webmaster)
Fundraising order forms shortcuts.
Fundraising page per type (Popcorn, Scout Books, Flag subscriptions).
I’m not sure I understand what you mean by template? Start creating similar pages and add similar content for your Troop is my suggestion. It is all just WYSIWYG word text.
Do you have some examples templates for all you listed:

I started playing around with this over the summer. I looked at the information and tried to decide what do people outside our troop want to know. That information is the public page. Information that you have listed, such as checklists, and summaries to me are all private intranet pages. Just my 2 cents…
As far as a template, like Matt said, there isn’t one. You’ll have to come up with something on your own.
One thing you can do easily is to insert the links to each page on the main page.
Go to each page you want as links and copy the address.
Example, a link to Calendar: https://troop.trooptrack.com/plan
Edit the main page and find “insert link” In the fields enter “Calendar” and paste the link.
If you know HTML you can anything you want. I was able to copy paste the calendar itself (the HTML code) onto the main page.
