New to TT. How do I go about using Troop Track to build my public website? Do I need special privileges or is there an extra fee?
From the Share Menu select Intranet or Public Site and you can edit, and add pages to both your public and internal (members only) pages. There is no fee for people to access directly via yourunit.trooptack.com, if you want your own website address yourtroop.(com, org, us, etc) then there are the regular registration fees for a web address plus a setup fee for TT to get that setup.
New Feature: Custom Domains
Thank you for the information. Hmmm…When I click on “Share” there is no option for Intranet or Public Site. These are the only options I have under share…
Check out the Gear Menu (next to your name in the TT navigation) then Edit Troop Settings, select Webmaster Tools. What do you see there? Just to cover the basics since you said you are new are you a full admin for your unit, with all of the permissions available, have you paid the subscription fee all ready or are you doing the 30 day trial?
That all looks correct and I could not find another setting anywhere. What are your privileges, found clicking your name then Your Profile, Privileges? Make sure you have all of the Web Site Authoring, if you do then this will require an e-mail to support@trooptrack.com.
I submitted an email to support almost two weeks ago and they just keep closing the ticket. I still do not have the website feature from the “share” option. Can anyone else help me?
What is your Troop URL and what do you get when you go to that directly. For instance my Troop is https://troop-441.trooptrack.com
where do I find the URL?
Your web browser will show the URL.
Ha! Sorry…it’s been a long day.
https://troop235.trooptrack.com/dashboard
So your public page should be https://troop235.trooptrack.com, however that gives an error when navigating to that URL. Try setting the Webmaster Tools to External site, just put in Google or something and save, then navigate to https://troop235.trooptrack.com and see if anything changes. Also check under Share to see if you get any Intranet or Public Site links.
Also try this link, TroopTrack do you get Public Website and Private Website sections on that page? How about this link https://troop235.trooptrack.com/share/comatose_pages/
Thanks, but neither of those suggestions worked for me.
Now change the webmaster tools page back to TroopTrack Pages and save.
