Why can't Google, Yahoo, etc. find my public web site?

I noticed that search engines do not find my pack’s site. I even tried adding some meta tags in the source of the home page but those get stripped out upon save.

Huh. Does TroopTrack use robots.txt?

So how do we get TroopTrack to respond to this particular finding? I’ve noticed the same thing. We have our new troop site built but I have found it is not discover-able in Google or Yahoo. Hard to recruit new members via our public site if we cannot be found.

Hi @jtaylor78, @Suisun182, @sstrunk,

Thank you guys for posting here.

I was informed by one of our developers that this is on our todo list. Thank you for your patience and keep an eye out for the product update with more details about these features.

Have a nice day!

I was able to get my site to show up on Google searches by specifically requesting the URL be crawled. Here is where you do that. https://www.google.com/webmasters/tools/submit-url?hl=en_uk&pli=1

I did something similar for Bing but my site is not being returned in searches yet.

Update for Bing: my site is now found on Bing too. The URL to request Bing crawl your site is: http://www.bing.com/toolbox/submit-site-url

Thank you JTaylor for sharing that link. This worked perfectly. Within an hour our site was searchable on Google.

Very much appreciated.
