Adding in Support for Scouts Canada

Hi there,

I’ve reached the end of my rope with Scouts Canada’s in-house troop management software, so I’d like to look at reworking TroopTrack into something I can use to manage my colonies/packs/troops/companies. The Scouts Canada program is based on WOSM’s One Program model, so it’s structurally similar to Ireland’s program.

I probably have a hundred questions to ask here, but the first concerns achievements and awards. Is there some way I can remove the default set of achievements and replace them with a custom set based on our Outdoor Adventure Skills and Personal Achievement Badge streams? If I’m going to be able to sell my group on moving between platforms, ease of use is going to be a key factor, and having the USA-specific awards on the list will be a point of confusion.

It is not that customizable from a front end user perspective. This would require creating a separate back end group with all of the achievements and awards. That would be a very large undertaking. I am sure there would need to be guaranteed buy in to even start such a process. You could reach out to dave@trooptrack.com and see what level of commitment he would need before entertaining such an endeavor.
