Is anyone else having trouble sending email (2026-09-17 20:00)?

I am receiving “Delivery Failed” when trying to send a message.

Is anyone else having issues?

Yes I got those yesterday. And so far they won’t resend either.

Yes, I am trying to send emails to remind about an event tomorrow and I am getting the Delivery Failed message.

Yes, there are several reports of this on a couple different threads. I have also confirmed with my units. I have reported this to TT admins.

Yes. Our TT invites are not sending at all. Will standby since @AaronStorey reported it already. hopefully, it gets resolved soon!

We have also experienced issues with emails. We’ve been unable to onboard new members because of this.

I received a response from TT Admin and he is engaging the developer who fixed it the last two times AWS blacklisted TT for SPAMMING. Unfortunately this may start to become a more regular occurance as SPAMMERS find new and better ways to compromise systems for sending out SPAM. Hopefully he will be able to get it sorted out quickly, if that is really the issue again this time, just an assumption on my part.

Thanks for updating us.

Status? This is really getting silly how often email is down.

This is ridiculous. This keeps happening. And I didn’t even realize they weren’t going out, and we are just about to start up again for the year.

We have been relying on being able to send email to our scout community. So it is very important for this to be fixed when it is identified as an issue. Having this unable for several days is not good service. Also frequent updates as to the progress will be greatly appreciated.

Just confirming the above. Unable to send email for a few days now…

Update, over the weekend TT admin was working with AWS, the e-mail provider, to close up loopholes scammers were using to exploit TT e-mail for SPAM and Phishing. AWS is doing verifications of the fixes put in place so this does not happen again. Once they are satisfied with the fixes they will allow e-mail to flow again. Unfortunately there isn’t a timeframe as it’s up to AWS and they move a bit slowly.

While all system strive to put blocks in place to keep scammers out it can also come at a cost of functions, all systems must weigh the benefits and risks. Also with potentially thousands of scammers out there constantly trying to find way to exploit systems they may find new ways not foreseen previously. It will continue to be an ongoing battle within the IT space in general and thus with TT specifically.

Thanks for the update! It is good to know what is going on, rather than silence.

Are you saying that all services that include an email feature are equally susceptible to these attacks? Or does TT just need to hire a new email admin person? I don’t see other email services going down every few months. TT admin needs to proactively close loopholes, not just be reactive.

Email is back up and running.

Any update on this issue?

Yes, absolutely all systems are suseptible to these attacks. Perhaps other systems do have more active monitoring and are able to remove and close loopholes and vulnerabilities faster. TT admin is actively working to increase their development support, unfortunately it takes time.

I will start off with saying we do appreciate everything you guys do.

I do have to answer to my Troop and explain to the other leaders what is actually going on, and what is being done to prevent this from continuously happening?

I am not a fan of other platform options, and it is only this email issue that has been an issues.

Yet it keeps happening…

Is there a plan to shore up security? I would love to send my unit something, anything of a plan that shows that the admins are working on a plan to keep this from happening again.

I understand no security is perfect, just need something.

These are not meant to be jabs, just real concerns. The timing of this last outage could not have been at a worst time with onboarding new Scouts.

Thanks for everything you do!

Generally I can work around the email issues, but I agree with Bob… This is what? The 4th or 5th time in a year? That’s not something most folks find acceptable.

I had quite a few folks that needed onboarding and I couldn’t onboard them because there was no email. This was a problem because there was a hard deadline for our Council Camp-O-Ree registration, and these new families could not participate.

I’m finally to the point where I’m looking into other options here. Very few products that I’ve seen have feature parity with Trooptrack, but the two I’m entertaining are going to be pretty close. They’ll be slightly more money per year, but if onboarding isn’t defeated by spam blocklists, I’m going to be looking hard at making a change.

Obviously, staying put is less labor-intensive for me, and I’d rather do that than do a migration at this stage in the game, but I’m not currently happy.

In related news, I was once a mail server administrator in a past life, and I’ve kept up with the various requirements for DNS and Mail Security as part of my still being the only person who knows how to do all of the things in the DNS server. If Trooptrack (the company) needs help figuring out the more mechanical side of things of mail servers, then by all means have them reach out and we can have a quick look. If the issue is a coding problem, then I can’t do much, unfortunately, other than make suggestions for workarounds.
