On an individual members page on the participation tab the default sort should be by date since it is a list of events.

Agreed!! The first thing I do when looking at the participation is sort by date twice so that the most recent is on top. Then I filter out the “Did not attend” events.
Could default be sorted by date with newest at the top, AND filter set to only attended events?
