Hi!
So, when I do a report to submit into Scoutbook Plus (which used to be called IA2.0) I get a bunch of “Invalid Advancement Type” errors when I import the file.
When I look at the file, this is what I see (names and ID numbers changed to protect the innocent)
MemberID|FirstName|MiddleName|LastName|AdvancementType|AdvancementID|Version|DateCompleted|DateApproved|DateAwarded
123456789|John||Doe|“”|“”||2024-09-03|2024-09-03|2024-09-24
It looks like the advancement type and advancement ID numbers aren’t being populated.
Are there any timelines as to when these numbers will be populated? If they are populated in the Trooptrack backend, will my report automatically have them in its export? If not, how do I delete the report?
Thank you,
-Brendan

The team at TT is working to get these new IDs from BSA. As to your second question I am not sure and will have to defer to the TT admins for that. The report can be deleted from the back end by support if it does not get auto populated you can request it to be deleted.
Good to know! Thank you for the update.
Unfortunately this is taking much more time than was expected. Getting ahold of BSA and getting the IDs from them is proving to be difficult. BSA IT does not have a process that can be found to request these items. Dave is attempting to contact BSA IT to get the IDs so he can get them updated in TT.
Thank you fur the update.
@BrendanMeteer,
We are getting close to having this all fixed. I did confirm though that an existing open report does not pick up the changes, you will need to open a new report and it will have the updated IDs. Right now there is still an issue with Bear ranks so I have reported that to the dev team, hopefully they will be able to fix that. As far as I could tell in my Pack everything else from different levels is good. If you don’t have any Bear items perhaps open a new report and double check the quotes are gone. As for the bad report you can do one of two things, after opening a new report, that will have duplicates you can upload then close the previous bad report, or you can send a message to support@trooptrack.com to have the bad report closed or deleted, I don’t remember what their options are.
@AaronStorey,
Thanks for the update and the how-to. I was unaware that pulling a 2nd report would pull duplicates that are also present on other open reports – that’s handy.
Please keep me posted on the Bear Ranks… I’ll likely wait to upload until after we’ve sorted out all of the bugs.
Yes, the only thing that will keep an item off a report is if there is a date in the Reported to Council field.
Is there an update for this issue? Besides the AOL rank not pulling, I have Bobcat, BB Gun, and Archery awards failing with what I assume are old codes.
Looked a little deeper. The advancement report pulled the old Bobcat Rank and the new Bobcat Adventure (belt loop). The BB Gun and Archery pins and patches were pulled for the Tigers and not the new beltloops.
@NickBongiolatti,
It sounds like the incorrect Adventures were added to the Scout Record not the new updated
Adventures. Verify that the new Adventures are the ones that are in the Scouts Advancement Profile and update as necessary. If it is the new versions of the Adventures then please screen shot and download the incorrect IA2.0 Report and submit to TT via the form at Support - Contact Us. That will open a ticket with support and allow them to see all of the screenshots and know exactly what needs to be fixed.
My apologies, I meant to come back with another update. You are correct. I had a den leader that entered the wrong awards. Got it straightened out and the shooting sports and Bobcat items went through with no issues.
The export file was leaving the AOL rank blank. It was still denoted on the file with the double quotation marks instead of rank and 12 as indicated in the original post by BrendanMeteer. I just edited the file after finding the correct code in another thread.
The Cub Scout Updates were completed, so far a couple that were missed have been found. If you do find an Advancement with missing Adventure Type and ID please complete the Form at Support - Contact Us and document with a screenshot of the TT website showing the missing fields as well as copy and paste the Advancement Report double quotation marks, this will make it easier for the TT team to correct it.
I opened up a ticket the other day and sent in the IDs for the ranks and a few adventures that had missing IDs that I found.
I just entered in the 10 missing things into Scoutbook manually. Scoutbook autocalculates the ranks for you with the adventures that you’ve uploaded, so that may be why they’re blank.
They should have IDs it was just an oversight, there were so many it was bound to happen.
I just ran a report today to upload to Scoutbook Plus and it looks like the AOL ranks are not showing with a BSA code for me.
