Managing Members Adults/Parents

When I add a member and select the adult member/Parent selection, how do I specify that the member is an adult or a parent. This affects the mailing lists, invite list, etc. Currently it seems hap hazard, some show up as parents and some show up as adult when you go to the “manage dens” page.

I believe that if they are in a household with a youth member they are classified as parents; otherwise they are adults.

Thank you, but that does not seem to e the case. The app seems to select as
it sees fit. Once it selects the incorrect option, I can’t find a way to
correct it. Even deleting and redoing does not work.
