Let admins search all users and resend an invitation from the Invite Users page

Posting this as an idea, following Aaron’s explanation of how changes like this get considered. I originally reported it as a bug in August 2025 (“Manage / Members / Invite Users, search not working as expected”). Aaron confirmed the behavior and pointed me to a workaround, and later confirmed it is not on the bug list because the workaround exists. Fair enough as a bug. It’s still a pain for me in 2026 so I’m posting as an idea.

The job I am trying to do: a parent never completed their account setup, and I need to resend their invitation. From Manage, Members, Invite Users:

  • If I select “All Users,” the search filter clears.
  • If I type a name in the search filter and press Enter, I am bounced back to “Users Without Access.”

So from that page there is no way to search for a user who already has access, which is exactly the list I need when resending an invitation. I can find the person through Manage, Members, User Accounts, where search works, but from that screen there is no action to resend the invitation. The Actions menu offers a password reset, which is a different thing to send a parent who never finished signing up.

What I am asking for, either piece would help:

  1. Search on the Invite Users page that works the same way regardless of which list is selected, and stays on the selected list when you press Enter.
  2. A “Resend invitation” action on the User Accounts page (and in member search results) for users whose invitations are still pending.

Additionally, while you have that code base open, and for the same workflow or job, it would be great to have a filter on the User Accounts page which allows quick filtering of users for which invitations have not been sent, and a second filter for users that have been sent an invitation but have not logged in yet at all.

This comes up most at the start of the school year, when packs and troops are onboarding dozens of families at once and a steady trickle of invitations go unanswered, expire, or land in spam. Right now each one is a page-by-page hunt or a workaround. Making the resend path direct would remove a recurring piece of admin friction at the busiest moment of the year.

While your idea is a good one I think you have a minor misunderstanding of funtionallity. To my knowledge there is no seperate operation to send invite/reset password. The function is the same. Once you send the invite the user account is generated, after that it really is a password reset that is generated.

Aaron, thanks. If reset password and resend invitation are the same function, that is good news: the fix is easier than I thought. The function exists; it is the wording that needs revisiting.

Two things follow from that. First, the label. An admin looking at a parent who never finished signing up has no way to know that “reset password” is the resend button. Calling it “Resend invitation” for accounts that have never logged in would fix that.

Second, the email the parent receives. If it says “reset your password” to someone who never set a password, some of them will not act on it. For a not-yet-activated account, that email needs to read as what it is: an invitation to finish setting up.

The two filters I would still ask for separately: invitations not yet sent, and invitations sent but never logged in. And the Invite Users search still does not work, as you confirmed last August.

The key job here that is not well served at present is: “I want to go through my membership, find the people who have not managed to successfully log in yet, and properly nudge them."
