Merge Two Youth Accounts that Both Have Data In It

I found that somehow over time, two accounts were created for the same boy. They both contain data. Is there a way to merge both accounts?

The only way to merge them is manually. You will also need to make sure that the data on TroopTrack and the BSA website (or other site, as applicable) has matching names, or this will continue happening.

Has anything changed regarding merging two accounts for the same person?

It’s the same. You will need to move any info manually over to the account you want to keep.

Could the importer tool be used to import data from one user to the other? Export data from one, import into the other the different data? Might require doing some work on the CSV that gets downloaded, especially if there are some items the same between both accounts.

Hi @AaronStorey,

The importer identifies the user by the name, so if the names on the account were different then it could in theory work.

I’ve never had anyone try that though and it’s best to just manually move the information over from one account to the other and then delete it. It might take some time, but that’s the best way to ensure that the account the user wants to keep is updated and kept.
